Candidal skin rash::affects the diaper area. It is caused by candidal

Candida: an overgrowgth of yeast in the bowel  produces many conditions from rashes to serious illness

Carcinoma:: Cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that line or cover body organs.

Carbunkle: A carbuncle is a walled-off collection of pus. Carbuncles often appear in areas of friction or minor trauma such as underneath the belt, the fronts of the thighs, buttocks, groin, and armpits.

Collagen Implants: The most common type of collagen implant is bovine collagen. Bovine collagen implants consist of sterile, purified, reconstituted fibrillar bovine collagen that is injected into the dermal layers of the skin for the purpose of soft tissue augmentation.

Cold sores: are caused by a viral infection that attacks the skin and nervous system. Cold sores are small, painful, fluid-filled blisters on the mouth or nose.

Cellulite: Popular term for deposits of fat that have a cottage cheese-like or puckered texture. Medically, cellulite is not considered abnormal.

Cellulitisis: a common infection of the skin and the soft tissues underneath the skin. It occurs when bacteria invade broken or normal skin and start to spread just under the skin or in the skin itself. This results in infection and inflammation. Inflammation is a process in which the body reacts to the bacteria. Inflammation may cause swelling, redness, pain, or warmth.

Chemical peeling: a chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing the skin to blister and peel off over a period of days.

Cheilitis:: inflammation of the skin on and around the lips

Chikenpox:: A highly infectious viral disease also known medically as varicella -- in many countries, this disease is always called "varicella" -- that causes a blister-like rash, itching, fatigue and fever. The rash crops up first on the face and trunk and can spread over the entire body resulting in 250 to 500 itchy blisters.

Chlorane Rash: Characterized by many condomes that develops from exposure to chlorinated chemicals or herbicides.

Closed comedones: A whiitehead, a non-inflamatory comedo with a white center.

Collagen: Collagen is the principal protein of the skin, tendons, cartilage, bone and connective tissue.

Contact dermatitis:: Contact dermatitis is an often-misused term which refers to a rash brought on by contact with a specific material which causes allergy on the skin.

Contact eczema:: a localized reaction that includes redness, itching, and burning where the skin has come into contact with an allergen (an allergy-causing substance) or with an irritant such as an acid, a cleaning agent, or other chemical

Comedo: An acne lesion

Comedone: A plug of sebaceous and dead skin material stuck in the opening of a hair follicle. The follicle may be open (blackhead) or almost closed (whitehead).

Comedogenic: Likely to cause comedones.

Cosmetic Surgery: Procedures that involve adding or removing portions of skin to renovate the apperarance of the skin.

Cryosurgery: Cryosurgery is a procedure utilizing cryogenic agents to treat a variety of cutaneous diseases. Single or multiple lesions on all areas of the body can be eradicated with cryosurgery. Freezing temperatures of a cryogenic agent applied directly or indirectly to the skin cause local destruction of tissue.

Cytokines: proteins produced naturally in the body, where they act as "messengers" to initiate inflammatory and disease-fighting responses to viruses, bacteria, toxins, injury, and malignant processes. Cytokines are in use as anti-cancer drugs.

Cyst: A lesion at various levels of the skin that has fluid or solid matter contained within a wall. The difference between the different types of cysts listed below is what level they are located in the skin and what solid matter is inside the cyst.

Cystic acne: This is a type of abscess that is formed when oil ducts become clogged and infected. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue is more intense  than the more superficial inflammation from common acne. Cystic acne is most common on the face and typically occurs in the teenage years.

Cutaneous papilloma: A small tag of skin that may have a stalk (a peduncle). Cutaneous papillomas may appear on the skin almost anywhere although the favorite locales are the eyelids, neck, armpits (axillae), upper chest, and groin.
